Blue Dive provides safe and fun kids scuba experiences in Port Douglas, through the PADI Bubblemaker program. Kids from as young as 8 years old can participate in this privately taught program, under the expert supervision of our PADI professionals. Blue Dive is Port Douglas’ longest established PADI dive training centre. For the Bubblemaker program we use a tropical resort swimming pool and go no deeper than 2m (6 ft). In conjunction with the program, children will learn the basics of scuba diving, all about the equipment and take their first breaths underwater, which is always a thrilling moment. Kids are closely supervised throughout the program, both above and under the water, by dive professionals. Once they are comfortable breathing under the water, it’s time to play – safely of course. During the program our team will take underwater photographs, which we provide to you digitally and create an amazing souvenir of their time blowing bubbles. The minimum age to participate is 8 years old – children must be medically fit and well. There are some medical conditions which may preclude participation, including asthma – more on this below. We require a minimum of 2 guests to run our kids scuba Port Douglas Bubblemaker program. The cost is $250 per person and it lasts between 2-3 hours. This is a great holiday activity or party idea for a special celebration.
Various health conditions, including asthma, fainting episodes, heart and lung problems and some other medical conditions will prevent kids from participating in the Bubblemaker program. Anyone wanting to participate must be in good medical health. Please check health issues at the time of booking. Please note parents or guardians need to be in attendance at the Bubblemaker briefing, to ensure they are happy their children understand the basic safety issues of diving. Price includes full equipment hire, transfers and private Blue Dive tuition.
The Blue Dive team love introducing kids to the world of scuba diving. There’s no previous experience necessary, but the children participating must be able to swim and be comfortable in the water. As well as breathing underwater for the first time, participating children will learn heaps of interesting scuba information and increase their confidence in the water. On completion, participants will receive a PADI Bubblemaker certification and souvenir photos – school mates will be green with envy. Want To Take It To The Next Level? When your child turns 10 years old they can learn to dive with Blue Dive and on successful completion of the course, become a certified Junior Open Water Diver.
