The Open Water Course is the best entry level option and the very best way to see the natural wonders of the Barrier Reef. This internationally recognised PADI course will, upon completion, qualify you to dive throughout the world. And what better place to do it than the clear warm waters of the stunning Opal Reef on the Great Barrier Reef.

What does the course involve?
This exciting course involves pool dives, skills training, theory and 2 days diving out on the Great Barrier Reef.
What will you be qualified to do upon completion?
You will be internationally qualified to dive to 18 metres depth with a buddy (12-14 year olds maximum 12 metres).
Requirements
Minimum 12 years of age and able to swim. Dive medical clearance.

Important information for the Open Water Course
A dive medical to Australian standard (AS 4005.1) is required by law to learn to dive in Queensland. Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. To avoid disappointment we suggest that this medical be done prior to the beginning of the course. If you can’t get it done before the course, we can arrange your medical for you on day 1 of the course. The cost is from $55 and is payable direct to the doctor.
