Open Water Course
1. We have a policy of only taking a maximum of 5 on PADI Open Water Courses as it means we can give expert and individual attention to each student – it’s a bit like the small school classes issue. It’s much, much better for the learning to dive experience.
2. Secondly, we offer a free extra dive on the Open Water Course so instead of just 4 Open Water dives you will each get 5 great dives out on the pristine outer Great Barrier Reef.
3. Thirdly, we have a unique policy that if, for any reason, anyone wishes to cancel at the end of day one of the course we offer a refund of $300. No other dive centre in the area makes such a commitment.
Learn in style
With some of the best learn to dive facilities in Queensland, you will be sped out on Poseidon or Calypso, the sleek and fast catamarans to the outer Great Barrier Reef – and a great place to complete your Open Water course in style – but only after skills training in our tropically-styled Port Douglas pool.

This is a 4 day course.

7.45 – 4.30 for the last 2 on the catamaran.

Important information for the Open Water course
A dive medical to Australian standard (AS 4005.1) is required by law to learn to dive in Queensland. Some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. Please note that active asthma within the last 10 years will probably prevent you from diving. To avoid disappointment we suggest that this medical be done prior to the beginning of the course. We can send you the appropriate form and help you with this. If you can’t get it done before the course, we may be able to arrange your medical for you on day 1 of the course. The cost is $66 and is payable direct to the doctor.
This website will help you find a doctor within Australia that is qualified to complete you medical.
